Centimetres to Inches

Divide by 2.54. That figure is exact, not rounded: the inch has been defined as precisely 2.54 centimetres since the international yard and pound agreement of 1959, so this conversion has no error in it at all.

Most arrivals here are converting a measurement from a European spec sheet, a piece of furniture, or a body measurement. Screen sizes are the usual exception and are measured diagonally, so a 68cm screen is a 27in one.

For heights, remember the answer is in decimal inches: 175cm is 68.9in, which is 5 feet 8.9 inches rather than 5 feet 9 inches.
