What this site is
This is a static website. It has no accounts, no comment system and no contact form, and nothing you do here is stored on its server beyond the standard access logs described below.
The tools
Every converter and calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. What you type into one is never sent anywhere, never logged and never stored. There is no upload, no server-side processing and no record that you used it at all.
Consent, in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
If you are in one of those places you are asked before any advertising or analytics cookie is set, and nothing is set until you answer. The prompt is Google's own certified consent tool and your choice is stored by Google rather than by this site, which also means it is the place to change your mind. Both the analytics and the advertising below follow that one answer.
Analytics
Visit statistics are collected through Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful. It sets cookies in your browser so it can recognize a returning visit, and the statistics are not linked to you personally. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's privacy policy.
Advertising
This site carries advertising served by Google AdSense, on its tool, cheat-sheet and article pages. The home page, search and this policy page show none.
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google and its partners set cookies and use similar technologies to choose and measure the ads you see, which may include using your earlier visits to this and other sites. They may receive information such as your IP address, the page you are on and cookie identifiers; How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services explains what it does with it. You can review and change what Google collects at Google's ad settings, and you can opt out of some other vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
The site also publishes an ads.txt file, which is a public declaration
of who is authorized to sell advertising on the domain and is not itself
a tracker.
Cookies
The only cookies used on this site are set by Google Analytics and Google AdSense, as described above. Nothing else on the site sets or reads a cookie.
Embedded video
Where a post includes a YouTube video, nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. The video then plays in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube's own terms apply from that point.
Server logs
The web host records standard access logs - IP address, timestamp, requested page, and browser type - as part of running the server. These are used for security and troubleshooting.
Changes
This page is updated when what the site does changes, rather than on a schedule.
